I first read this book in 2004. Any visitor to The Sistine Chapel should read this book. It will greatly enhance your appreciation of the technique and the methodology by which Michelangelo and his assistants painted this masterpiece of Western art.
Ross King has done art and history lovers a great service with this book. Rereading it again for my 4th visit to the Sistine Chapel this Oct I am again impressed by the tremendous research put into this book.
