A wonderful tale – A Stranger in Tibet: The Adventures of a Wandering Zen Monk

This is a fascinating book on the journey of a Japanese Zen monk into forbidden Tibet in 1900.

Berry writes very well. This is also a biography of the monk. As we follow the trek to Lhasa we are propelled along with excitement.

It is a pity this book had no index. It is also of small font. Readers may also like to read Tibet The Jesuit Century by Philip Caraman. This is a 150-page book on 5 journeys by Jesuit explorers to Tibet between 1624 and 1721.
