This is an amazing book which I first read in 2007. The author has written a book on the different types of Indian food that exist in various provinces of India while exploring their origins, manner of cooking and the cultural aspects of each food.
The end result is a book that appeals to readers looking for more than a bland description of Indian food.
We are treated to a culinary history of Bengalis food, Goa Portuguese food, Anglo-Indian food, Mughal food etc. Having travelled to Delhi, Mumbai, Hyderabad, Agra, Jaipur, Kerala, and Goa this book brings back fond memories of the diversity in Indian food and culture.
This is a book to bring to India!
