This 4-volume set is part of the Cambridge China Library which is a series of new English translations of books by Chinese scholars that have not been translated into English yet.
Volume 1 was published in Chinese by Peking University in 2006. Translation work started immediately in 2007 and this volume was published in 2012.
All 4 – volumes are now available in English and only available as a 4- volume set.
Readers interested in a history of Chinese civilization written by Chinese scholars will appreciate this set.
