Carlo D’Este, Richard Holmes

There are more biographies of Winston Spencer Churchill than any other persons.

In fact, when Nigel Hamilton wanted to write his 3- volume biography of FDR, he was told by prospective publishers the English – speaking world has limited interest on American leaders like FDR, unlike WSC.

Here are 2 not so recent biographies on WSC. Carlo D’este ‘s is a highly readable and excellent detailed book. Richard Holmes’s is a study in character and should not be read unless one is familiar with the life of Churchill.

Poser – why did WSC prefer to title himself as Winston S. Churchill leaving the S as a mere S.?
