This slim 316-page book is very perceptive.
McCarten wrote this book to accompany his screenplay for Darkest Hour. Even if one has read many books on Churchill, there are many gems and nuggets here. His research is impressive. The writing is compelling.
Excellent pen portraits of Neville Chamberlain, WSC, Lord Halifax.
Highly recommended to read this book before watching the movie.
