The Arab Spring

Hany Ghoraba, Stuart Schaar, Peter Hessler

The Arab Spring- a term coined by Western interests who favored the uprisings against the Arab countries- happened 10 years ago this year.

Yet, there is still no outstanding and neutral book on these momentous uprisings.

Here are 3 of 4 books. Ghoraba need not be read. Hessler starts after the fall of Mubarak and thus does not examined why Mubarak fell. The Birth of the Arab Citizen is a general survey with 22 essays on the Arab countries affected. David D. Kirkpatrick Into the Hands of the Soldiers: Freedom and Chaos in Egypt and the Middle East is a pro- uprising book on Egypt.
