Lord Ian Strathcarron wrote 2 excellent books of his travels with his family retracing Mark Twain’s two journeys.
Both books are greatly enhanced by his observations on current social and historical aspects of each city he visited.
Comparing his writing with the original text by Twain, I learned more about these places and the sites from his books.
In this book he retraced The Innocents abroad, but not the whole journey. He covered Turkey, Lebanon, Syria, and Israel.
The fonts are sadly a bit small. Including a map of the places visited would greatly enhance both books.
