A walk along Griddle Road encircling the Tanah Rata golf course is therapeutic.
The greens, the quietness, the hills, and clouds at the far horizon not to mention the dilapidated bungalows are balm to the soul.
Most of these bungalows are owned by the old rich. Their builders had passed away and the children migrated overseas never to return. It is time for us to reinstate an inheritance tax for these assets to be sold. Then these fine bungalows with their prime locations can be enjoyed by the nouveau riche.
To drive to the far north
On 20 Dec 2021 traffic in Cameron Highlands was unusually light.
No traffic was ahead of me in my drive up from Tapah at 9.30 am.
At 3 pm the next day I took the opportunity to drive north to Blue Valley. I passed by Tanah Rata, Brinchang, Tringkap, Kuala Terla, Kampung Raja and reached Blue Valley 20 km from Tanah Rata in 30 minutes.
