To appreciate Chinese paintings, one needs to read widely.
The genres are varied and wide. Ranging from landscapes to portraits. The styles also evolved from the Han to Tang to Sung to Yuan to Ming and finally to Ching.
Here are 4 books from my collection acquired from near and far.
The Art of Chinese Painting was bought when we toured the Shanghai World Expo from 7 to 13 July 2010 with my good friend KB Ong and his wife GSL.
Reading Chinese Painting was acquired at the Prague Airport on our way to Krakow on 30 April 2017. The other two were bought in Kinokuniya KLCC in 2015 and 2020.
