This first volume of the biography of Lim Kit Siang (2021 ed) sheds much light on a politician who devoted his life to the country.
Until now, the personal life of Kit, as he is known to his friends, is largely in the shadows of his halo.
Written in brisk and highly readable prose, one can easily finish this book in a short period of time. Volume 1 covers the period 1941 to the year 1987.
On the whole a solid output. It is a real pity this book lacks endnotes and an index.
