This biography of Sun Yat Sen published in 2017 is a wonderful read.
It is a useful addition to the corpus as the last substantial biography is the one by Marie-Claire Bergere (French translated to English) published in 1998.
Sun Yat Sen has been frequently portrayed by Western historians as a bumbling revolutionary. One who bungled one revolution after another.
Kayloe gives a more nuanced and balanced view of his useful contributions. In ten uprisings from 1895 to 1911 planned or inspired by Sun, he inspired the fall of the Manchus.
Highly recommended.
