I was delighted to acquire this book for Christmas 2019 having stayed at St Catherine Monastery for a night and hiked up Mount Sinai in 1991 with my good friend Lam KJ.
This book has a lot of black and white reproductions of drawings by the travellers in the 19th century. At 194 pages the author has quoted at length the various accounts of these travellers. His command of sources is thorough. But this book needs a good editor. It requires very patient reading.
