One prose. One verse.

A.P. (ed) WAVELL, Baron Alfred Denning

Here are 2 anthologies. One prose. One verse.

Lord Wavell started to compile his anthology in 1941 while fighting the Japanese. To him, it was solace and a respite from the horrors of war. With brief annotations, the book was published in 1944, when the tide had turned, and England was looking at the brightness of the uplands.
Lord Denning published his age 86. He was inspired by Lord Wavell’s anthology. His book has extensive annotations.

I highly recommend both books for any library, home, or public.
