Tseng was instrumental in crushing the Taiping Rebellion. He mentored Li from young. Li was able and ambitious. Li took on board the advice and went on to reach the pinnacle of power.
This 64th Merdeka Day (31 Aug 2021) reminds me of how big a role Fate plays in our lives. Several classmates (MBSKL class of 1971 to 1983) are no longer with us. One dear classmate just moved on a few days ago.
