This is a beautifully illustrated Tale of Genji published by the British Museum. All 54 chapters of the tale are illustrated by images taken from two albums produced in the 17th century. Each chapter is summarised with texts quoted from the translation by Edward G. Seidensticker {1976}. The text is of a good readable size and the paintings beautifully printed. A joy to read.
I would also recommend The Tale of Genji A visual companion by Melissa Mccormick {2018}, which is based on the translation by Dennis Washburn {2015}
