Book of Daniel chapter 5, KJV
24 Then was the part of the hand sent from him, and this writing was written.
25 And this is the writing that was written,
Mene, Mene, Tekel, Upharsin.
26 This is the interpretation of the thing: Mene; God hath numbered thy kingdom and finished it.
27 Tekel; Thou art weighed in the balances, and art found wanting.
28 Peres; Thy kingdom is divided, and given to the Medes and Persians.
The Cyrus cylinder is justly famous for its confirmation of the biblical tale of how the Christian God helped the Persian King Cyrus the Great to conquer Babylon as told in the biblical books of 2 Chronicles, Eyra, Isaiah, Jeremiah, and Daniel. This is an illustrated catalogue of the Cyrus cylinder, the Oxus Treasure and several other objects from the British Museum that toured the US in 2013. There is a useful introductory essay that explains the significance of the Cyrus cylinder as well as an English translation of its inscription in Babylonia cuneiform. I highly recommend this book.
