This 1998 book is a book that narrates the short but turbulent 39 years in the life of Michelangelo Merisi da Caravaggio. The name by which he is called is Caravaggio, which was actually his family’s hometown, east of Milan.
This book has excellent reproductions of his paintings, as well as comparisons with similar paintings on the same theme by other artists. For example, the painting Entombment was compared to Michelangelo ‘s Pieta and Peter Paul Ruben’s Entombment. {page 175}.
Puglisi also provides vivid background information to each painting. Her writing is easy to read. The paintings are shown in a decent size. This is a book which i would recommend.
Poser – NAME his largest painting which can be found in Malta.
