If you are keen on HK history, a good, albeit small, shop to browse is the Hong Kong University Press (HKUP).
It is located on the ground floor of the Run Run Shaw Heritage House at the Centennial Campus of the University of Hong Kong in Pok Fu Lam Road.
Go directly to the MTR HKU Station, and use the escalators up to the ground floor. There is a Starbucks cafe there, too.
I bought 4 books. The biography of Sir Robert Ho Tung (2022) is excellent. It tells the life story of an HK Eurasian, the richest man of his generation in HK, who proudly calls himself Chinese.
His dad was of Dutch and Jewish origin. His mom is Chinese.
This biography was commissioned in 1997 by one of Sir Robert’s grandsons. Inexplicably, the author delivered the book after the grandson’s death, and the book was only published in 2022.
Ps: There is a gallery in the British Museum in London. It houses a collection of Chinese ceramics valued at £1 billion donated to the British Museum, marking it the highest-value object donation in UK history. It was donated by Sir Joseph Ho Tung, one of his grandsons.
